Hello all! How is your week going? I’m excited to share a couple of cards I made using Spellbinders alphabet dies. These cards feature large embossed sentiments and some simple stamping with Altenew floral stamps. Very easy to make and even easier to mass produce.
Like this project? Pin it and save for later!
I started working on these by stamping flower outlines in Versa Fine Onyx Black ink, this is my go-to black ink, very crisp and very rich in color. I stamped my flowers in clusters in the corners of my white panels. Next I used Altenew’s Buttercream (lightest), Warm Sunshine (medium) and Caramel Toffee (darkest) inks to stamp the layers of the multi layer flower images. I love using stamps like these as I don’t have to spend much time to create a multicolored dimensional-looking image, stamps and inks do all the work for you.
I used Spellbinders S5-239 Etched Alphabet dies to spell the words or sentiments I wanted to emboss onto my cards. You can emboss anything you like, but if you plan to emboss something long or something that needs to have 2 of some letters its best to get two sets of these alphabets.
Arrange the letter dies onto your panel and make sure to tape them down using very low tack tape. Next use embossing sandwich and emboss these in your die cutting machine. It also helps to spray your cardstock with water (just a bit) to avoid having wrinkles on your paper.
And do remember that you need to use your embossing, not your die cutting plates to get this look.
I also added drops of yellow ink onto my backgrounds and adhered a few gold glitter and yellow enamel dots. To flatten the embossed panels and make them more durable I adhered them onto fun foam cut slightly smaller than the embossed pieces and mounted that onto Ivory cardstock.
